Chapter 42 & 26 Development Incentives

About Livable Places


Houston City Council approved the Livable Places Housing Recommendations in September 2023 to update portions of the City’s residential development regulations that will expand the types of homes that are built to meet the needs of all Houstonians. The changes focus on walkability, affordability and equity. This package of ordinance amendments reflects three years of collaboration with the Livable Places Action Committee and stakeholders across the city. The rules became effective on Monday, November 27, 2023.

Chapter 42 & 26 Workshop Details

Join the Planning & Development Department for a virtual workshop in Spanish from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2024. The workshop will focus on recent ordinance changes to chapters 42 and 26 of the City of Houston Code of Ordinances. The workshop will give an opportunity for builders, surveyors, plat applicants, realtors and anyone who is involved in land development to ask questions. Others are welcome to attend, but please note that the content will be very technical in nature.

El taller se centrará en los cambios recientes en las ordenanzas de los capítulos 42 y 26 del Código de Ordenanzas de la Ciudad de Houston. El taller brindará una oportunidad para que los constructores, topógrafos, solicitantes de planos, agentes inmobiliarios y cualquier persona involucrada en el desarrollo de propiedades hagan preguntas. Otros pueden asistir, pero tenga en cuenta que el contenido será de naturaleza muy técnica.
